This poster featuring a detail from Untitled (check painting) #15 (2004) was produced in 2005, in conjunction with Richard Prince: Check Paintings at Gagosian, Beverly Hills. Recalling the assemblage works of Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, the large-scale painting incorporates blank bank checks—the artist’s own—as part of the canvas support, on which his trademark “joke” texts have been inscribed:
Last night I ordered a whole meal in French. Even the waiter was surprised. I was in a Chinese restaurant. . . Another one, I went to the doctor with a sore foot. He said, “I’ll have you walking within the hour.” He did. He stole my car. . .
