Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crown Tote Bag
This tote bag features the artwork Jean-Michel Basquiat created for the cover of Rammellzee and K-Rob’s 1983 rap-battle single “Beat Bop.” To create this work, Basquiat transformed one of his drawings into a silkscreen print, converting the original’s black marks on a white ground into white marks on black. Basquiat’s work captures the trailblazing energy in “Beat Bop” with lightning bolts and pithy exclamations surrounded by explosive bursts of arrows, loops, and stars. The bag is made from water-resistant recycled-polyester taffeta, holds up to 44 pounds, and folds into a small zippered pouch.
