Howard Hodgkin Home: Red Flowers Cushion
This double-sided cushion from Howard Hodgkin Home features the artist’s oil-on-wood-panel painting Red Flowers (2011–12) on both sides. Hodgkin’s subject is a presence that is sensed rather than apprehended, remaining allusive, fragmentary, and resistant to interpretation. Red Flowers was inspired by the artist’s father’s love of small flowers and uses bold chromatic harmonies to convey the intensity of this everyday memory.
Howard Hodgkin Home is an initiative to celebrate Hodgkin’s work and to help fund the ambitions of the Howard Hodgkin Legacy Trust. Each cushion includes a digitally printed pillowcase with nylon zipper and feather-filled pillow insert.
