Cy Twombly: Bilder Paintings 1952–1976, Volume I
This is the first and only realized volume of a Cy Twombly catalogue raisonné project published by Propyläen Verlag, Berlin. The volume presents, in chronological order, nearly one hundred full-size color reproductions of paintings made by the artist over the course of twenty-five years. The works were selected by editor Heiner Bastian in consultation with the artist. The publication also features an extensive introductory essay by Bastian interpreting Twombly’s painting practice, as well as a brief chronology, bibliography, and exhibition history.
