Sterling Ruby: TILL DEATH DO US PART
This poster featuring GHOST (9181) (2026) was produced in 2026, in conjunction with the exhibition Sterling Ruby: TILL DEATH DO US PART at Gagosian, rue de Castiglione, Paris. The artist has inscribed the exhibition information over a detail of the collage, which combines cyanotype with drawn elements. In the mixed-media GHOST works, which were juxtaposed in the exhibition with enlarged prints of the same series papering the gallery walls, Ruby continues to use flowers as both raw and iconographic material. Cast bronze sculptures on view in the show represent pairs of flowering plants joined in embraces that imply the complexities of a married relationship. By portraying these blooms in various stages of decay, Ruby returns them to their symbolism for the impermanence of life.
