Picasso & the Camera Notecard Set
This notecard set was produced on the occasion of the exhibition Picasso & the Camera at Gagosian, West 21st Street, New York. It includes ten blank folded notecards and envelopes, in a jacket case. The cards feature photographs, paintings, sculptures, and stills from films included in the exhibition, which show Pablo Picasso’s unique relationship with the camera.
Throughout his life Picasso engaged with photography and photographers in a myriad of ways: He used the camera to capture life in the studio and at home. He collaborated with Brassaï, Dora Maar, and André Villers to create photographic works of art. He filmed home movies of his family and friends, and worked with filmmakers to capture his creative process. His life and work were documented by many of the century’s most influential photographers and his image has became an international icon.
