Peter Marino Black Belt: Otto Vase (Light Pink)
Peter Marino collaborated with the historic Italian glass company Venini to create the Black Belt collection, a limited-edition series of glass vases. Each vase is designed by Marino and handblown by Venini artisans using time-honored Murano glassmaking techniques.
The collection features four distinct shapes—ovale (oval), quadro (square), triangolo (triangle), and otto (figure-eight)—each made in a variety of transparent hues contrasted with opaque black bands in unique linear patterns. The otto vase stands out for its soft shapes recalling bodily curves. There are 349 pieces of each shape, color, and size. Each vase is numbered and etched with Marino’s signature.
“I have a different philosophy from many architects,” said Marino of the project. “It’s not just about art; I like art that’s used, so I made vases for flowers because I’m a flower freak.”
