Designed by Jeff Koons in collaboration with Bernardaud, this limited-edition coupe service plate features a reproduction of the artist’s iconic porcelain sculpture Michael Jackson and Bubbles (1988), depicting Michael Jackson with his pet chimpanzee in a pyramidal composition echoing that of Michelangelo’s Pietà (1498–99). The sculpture is from Koons’s Banality series, which celebrates popular culture and the banal, including gift-shop figurines and religious objects.
