Cy Twombly
This slim volume was published in 1965 to accompany the exhibition Cy Twombly at the Museum Haus Lange Krefeld, Germany, the first large-scale museum show of the artist’s work. The exhibition subsequently traveled to the Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels, and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
Now housed in a custom cloth clamshell box, the publication features an essay in German by Paul Wember, as well as a brief biography and bibliography. It is illustrated with four photographs—one in color—of three of the paintings that were on view in Krefeld, along with an atmospheric black-and-white portrait of the artist.
