Yves Klein: Conférence à la Sorbonne
This rare double 12-inch vinyl LP documents two lectures given by Yves Klein at the Grand Amphithéâtre de l’Université de la Sorbonne, Paris, in 1959: “The Evolution of Art Toward the Immaterial” and “The Architecture of the Air.” Klein spoke shortly before his first exhibition with gallerist Iris Clert, who organized the lecture, and in the same year that he met Raymond Hains, François Dufrêne, Pierre Restany, Jean Tinguely, and Jacques de la Villéglé, with whom he formed the Nouveau Réalisme group.
The records feature gold-colored labels and are housed in the original gatefold sleeve, silkscreened front and back in the artist’s signature International Klein Blue. The sleeve’s interior features a black-and-white photograph of Klein standing in front of one of his paintings.
