Jonas Wood: Interiors

Regular price Regular price $40

This book documents almost fifty paintings and drawings of interiors made by Jonas Wood between 2007 and 2011. “The interiors began as reflections on the spaces I grew up in,” Wood recalls. “These are the spaces that inspired me to become an artist, and so they were a natural choice for subject matter.” The works reproduced in the book are characterized by Wood’s immediately recognizable blend of graphic stylization, bright color, and captivating detail, illuminating his idiosyncratic treatment of depth and dimension. Representing domestic, studio, and gallery spaces, they also often feature pictures-within-pictures that add an additional richness to the artist’s compelling blend of art historical reference and personal historicization. In addition to the full-color plates, the book includes an essay by critic Michael Ned Holte and a conversation between the artist and curator Ana Vejzovic Sharp.
