Warhol on Basquiat: The Iconic Relationship Told in Andy Warhol’s Words and Pictures
This book—edited by Michael Dayton Hermann and produced in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation and the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat—explores the dynamic personal and professional relationship shared by Warhol and Basquiat between 1982 and 1987 in downtown New York. In addition to hundreds of previously unpublished photographs by Warhol of Basquiat and his many associates, the volume features reproductions of the artists’ collaborative artworks, acerbic and revealing excerpts from the legendary Andy Warhol Diaries, and images of artifacts from Warhol’s Time Capsules, a serial work comprising 610 boxes filled with the artist’s treasures and mementos.
