This T-shirt was produced on the occasion of the exhibition Brice Marden: I Am Plane Image at Gagosian, West 21st Street, New York. The front features a silkscreened reproduction of a drawing by the artist. For Marden, “Plane Image” served as a descriptor of both his studio and his practice, as he noted in a 2006 interview: “I consider myself Plane Image. It was a name I made for a company. But it also [represented] the ideas I was involved with in my paintings.”
