Jack Pierson: Golden Years Plate
Produced by Ligne Blanche Paris, this Limoges porcelain plate features a reproduction of Jack Pierson’s Golden Years (2010). The original wall-mounted assemblage was constructed from found wood, metal, and plastic signage in various colors and finishes, salvaged by the artist from abandoned commercial displays. Pierson juxtaposed the elements to produce a jaunty composition that spells out the words of the title. As with his other text-based works, the phrase’s mix of fonts both augments its nostalgia for midcentury aesthetics and renders its otherwise everyday language poetic and strange. The plate is available in small and large sizes and is packaged in a white gift box.
