Giuseppe Penone: Identity (Black)
In conjunction with the publication of his monograph The Inner Life of Forms, Giuseppe Penone has created a limited-edition print, titled Identity, featuring a Pointillist-style drawing of an eye. The drypoint etching was printed by Atelier René Tazé, Paris, in editions of 50 (black version) and 200 (white version) and is accompanied by an archival folder containing an original poem by the artist, as well as a copy of the monograph. The print is housed in your choice of a cloth-covered clamshell box, which can also hold the monograph, or a white wooden frame.
In his work, Penone investigates the natural world, making manifest the subtle dynamics between human beings and nature. A protagonist of Arte Povera, he relies on simple materials and the human senses—particularly touch and sight—to explore processes such as respiration, growth, and aging.
