The Edward Ruscha Catalogue Raisonné of the Paintings is an ongoing project by Gagosian that to date comprises seven volumes. Volume four documents the 199 paintings Ed Ruscha made between 1988 and 1992. It includes the Psycho Spaghetti Western works, which are informed by film imagery, and the Blue Collar paintings of imaginary industrial buildings, to which the artist would eventually return. The volume contains a comprehensive exhibition history, bibliography, and biographical chronology, as well as sketches, studies, and documentary photos. It was edited by Robert Dean and Lisa Turvey and features an essay by art historian Briony Fer and a text by fellow artist Mel Bochner.
