Masa Designs: Amber Sake Carafe and Kohiki Guinomi Sake Cups Set
This handcrafted set designed by legendary chef Masayoshi Takayama, known as Masa, combines a twisted crystal carafe and two cups for an exceptional cold sake experience. The uniquely textured form of the 8-ounce carafe is enhanced by its realization in subtle yellow tones of amber glass. The sake cups, which hold approximately 4 ounces each, are crafted with a traditional kohiki technique: iron-rich clay is covered with a slip of liquefied white clay and a transparent glaze, then fired to produce a striking white hue.
Following the seven principles of shibusa—simplicity, implicitness, modesty, naturalness, imperfection, everydayness, and silence—the Masa Designs collection is crafted to improve the aesthetics of everyday life. Markings and coloring may vary due to the unique nature of the production and firing processes.
