Jonas Wood’s work often explores natural landscapes, translating them to his characteristic stylings of sharp lines and solid coloring. In his Green Pattern Rug, Wood renders layers of shrubs and greenery, graphic flatness that has become synonymous with his painting style. His luxurious hand-knotted and dyed carpet is made from the highest quality silk in Kathmandu and is produced in a limited edition of 30 plus 3 artist proofs. “I like making editions and prints as an extension of my practice. Even though it’s very high end, there’s still some accessibility to it: Instead of just one painting, there are thirty rugs. People live with it and their dog sleeps on it,” said the artist in the New York Times.
