Repossi/Robert Mapplethorpe: “Bullseye” Large Ring
As part of an ongoing collaboration with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, Paris jewelry house Repossi has created a collection of fine jewelry inspired by the artist’s own handmade jewelry and his early photography.
For the Bullseye line, Gaia Repossi interprets the depictions of intimacy and homoeroticism present in Mapplethorpe’s photography. Intended to be unisex, the ring’s design features two intertwined Mars symbols, representing the male gender. The mirror-polished white gold echoes the classicism and contrast found in black-and-white photography.
